Yoga Foundations
Make Yoga Make Sense.
Curious about yoga, but not quite sure where to start? Maybe you've wanted to try a class but feel intimidated walking into a studio, aren't sure what all the instructions mean, or think you need to be flexible before you begin.
Yoga Foundations is for you, whether you're brand new to yoga or looking to revisit the basics.
Join Vikki Dela Cruz of Aligned with Vikki for a 90-minute interactive workshop and practice where we'll slow things down, explore the foundations of yoga, and make sense of the movements and instructions you might encounter in a class.
Unlike a typical yoga class, we'll take time to break things down. You'll learn how to connect your breath with movement, understand common cues like "stack your shoulders over your wrists," and explore how props and different pose variations can change the way a movement feels.
What we'll explore:
What yoga is (and isn't)
Connecting breath with movement and understanding when to inhale and exhale
Common yoga terms and class cues, and what they actually mean
How to use yoga blocks and other props to support your practice
Foundational poses and transitions, with opportunities to try different variations
An accessible guided practice to bring everything together
Different styles of yoga and how to choose a class that works for you
Throughout the workshop, you'll have opportunities to ask questions, try things for yourself, and discover what feels comfortable and supportive for your body.
No experience or flexibility required. And if you already practice yoga, this is a chance to revisit familiar movements, explore different approaches, and deepen your understanding of the foundations.
The goal isn't to leave knowing everything about yoga. It's to leave with a better understanding of what you're doing, why you're doing it, and the confidence to keep exploring.
What you'll need:
Yoga mat
Comfortable clothing you can move in
Yoga blocks, if you have them (a limited number will be available)
An open mind and a willingness to try
Tea will be available when you arrive, so you can get comfortable and settle in before we begin.
Doors open: 1:45 PM
Workshop: 2:00–3:30 PM
Date: Saturday, November 21, 2026
